Dr. Javier Orduz is a dedicated educator and researcher, currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Earlham College and an Instructor at Baylor University. With a deep love for mathematics, physics, and computing, he has spent years contributing to research, teaching, and mentoring the next generation of scientists. His journey has taken him from being a Research Scholar and Computer Science Instructor at Baylor University to spending five impactful years as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Associate Professor at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Outside of academia, Dr. Orduz is a passionate advocate for quantum computing. As the coordinator of QMexico, he works hard to bring quantum computing education and research to communities across Latin America. He also leads the Quaker-ECE initiative at Earlham College, where he encourages students to explore the exciting world of quantum computing.

As a Research Scientist in AI, Dr. Orduz focuses on quantum machine learning, creating innovative algorithms that push the boundaries of what’s possible. He’s also deeply involved in mentoring through the LatinX AI community, where he supports and empowers underrepresented voices in artificial intelligence.

His work spans quantum computing, machine learning, and high-energy physics, and his growing influence is reflected in his research and active participation in global scientific events. Through it all, he’s remained committed to inspiring underrepresented groups and advancing Latin America’s role in science and technology.
