Dr. Javier Orduz is a passionate educator, researcher, and mentor with a deep commitment to science and community. He currently serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Earlham College and an Instructor at Baylor University, where he blends his love for mathematics, physics, and computing to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.

His academic journey spans several countries and institutions—starting as a Research Scholar and Computer Science Instructor at Baylor, and later spending five enriching years as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Associate Professor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). These experiences shaped his interdisciplinary approach to both research and education.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Orduz is a strong advocate for democratizing access to quantum computing. As the coordinator of QMexico, he champions education and research opportunities across Latin America. He also leads Quaker-ECE at Earlham, encouraging hands-on exploration of quantum technologies.

His current research bridges quantum computing, machine learning, and high-energy physics, with a special focus on quantum machine learning algorithms that aim to tackle real-world challenges. As a member of the LatinX in AI community, he actively mentors underrepresented voices in technology, helping foster equity in STEM fields.

Through his work, Dr. Orduz continues to build inclusive scientific communities, create innovative technologies, and promote Latin America’s leadership in global science and innovation.
